Bucket hat or wide-brim sun hat?
The bucket hat sits closer to the head and packs into almost nothing, and the chin cord means wind isn't a problem. The frayed and foldable sun hats have a wider wired brim, so they give more shade on your face, neck and shoulders. For long days in the garden, take a sun hat. For festivals, boats and travel, the bucket hat.
How do I choose my size?
Wrap a soft tape measure around your head about half an inch above your ears and eyebrows, where the hat will sit. M is 22⅞ in, L is 24 in and XL is 25¼ in. Between sizes? Go one up for a relaxed fit.

No. It's soft all the way round, which is why it packs so small.
Does it stay on in the wind?
Yes, that's what the chin cord is for. Slide the cord up under your chin.
