What is a Gheri cotton poncho?
Gheri is a heavy cotton cloth handwoven in Nepal, usually in stripes. It's thick enough to keep the wind off at a campfire and still soft enough to sleep in. Our extra long poncho is cut like a Baja hoodie: a pullover with a hood and a big kangaroo pocket, just longer.
What do you wear with a poncho?
Anything loose. Thai fisherman pants or harem pants for a festival, jeans for a cold evening in town. The patchwork poncho goes over a T-shirt; the heavy Gheri one can be your jacket.
