Why we make it this way
Why hemp, why Nepal?
Why do we use hemp?
Hemp is one of the strongest plant fibres there is. It breathes in summer heat, pulls sweat away from the skin and gets softer every time you wear it. More about hemp.
Why is everything made in Nepal?
Kathmandu has a long tradition of hand weaving, knitting and tailoring. We've worked with the same makers there since 2010, and every piece is made there, not "inspired by" there.
Who is it for?
Anyone. We don't design by gender or age. Wrap waists, wired brims and loose cuts adjust to the body, not the other way round.
Reviews
Over 14,000 orders since 2010

It looks exactly like the picture! It fit my large head perfectly. It's cooler in the sun than any hat I've ever owned. Plus I got compliments the first two days I wore it.
Quality construction here: tested on beach, kept head cool and hugs head well. XL size works great with long bulky hair, bendable rim is a great plus to conform to wind resistance.
So cute on my boyfriend. He loves them! Arrived literally the next day after I ordered.
Very nice looking, great quality. I love the zippered pocket for keys, wallet, etc.
This is a nice little handbag with a playful look and excellent functionality.
Better hat than I expected, shipped very quickly, and when I asked about care instructions, they replied within hours. What more could you ask?

Questions
Good to know
Where are manaKAmana products made?
Every piece is handcrafted in Kathmandu, Nepal by skilled craftspeople paid fair wages in safe working conditions. I’ve been working with makers there since 2010.
What are the hats and clothes made of?
Natural fibres: hemp for the sun hats, bucket hats, wallets and many of the pouches; 100% cotton for the Thai fisherman pants; heavy handwoven Gheri cotton for the ponchos.
How do Thai fisherman pants fit?
They are wrap trousers with a wide fold-over waist that you tie yourself, so one size fits roughly S to L. They are loose and roomy, good for yoga, travel and hot days.
Do the hemp sun hats keep their shape?
The wide-brim hemp sun hats have a wire sewn into the brim, so you can bend and shape it the way you like. The foldable version packs into a bag and pops back into shape. More on our hemp hats page.
Where can I buy manaKAmana?
Every piece on this page is sold through my Amazon store, with Prime delivery in the US. You can also find me on Etsy.
Are manaKAmana clothes unisex?
Yes. We design without gender or age in mind. The Thai fisherman pants have a wrap waist, the hats have a wired brim you shape yourself, and the ponchos are cut loose and long.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. Boutiques, yoga studios and festival stalls can write to smile@manakamana.me with the pieces they like and rough quantities.
“My designs are a fusion between ancient Eastern culture and contemporary Western clothing. I use natural fibres, because I believe our skin will be thankful for them.”
